Role debut as Foreign Princess in “Rusalka”
Ricarda Merbeth launches her 2026/27 season on September 22 at the Opéra national du Capitole in Toulouse, making her role debut as the Foreign Princess in Stefano Poda’s production of Dvořák’s Rusalka, conducted by Giacomo Sagripanti.
The engagement marks her return to a theatre with which she has enjoyed a long association. Previous appearances in Toulouse have included the Empress in Die Frau ohne Schatten, Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Rezia in Oberon and the title role in Elektra. Most recently, she returned to Die Frau ohne Schatten in 2024, this time as the Dyer’s Wife, to great acclaim.
In Rusalka, she shares the stage with Ruzan Mantashyan in the title role, Pavol Breslik as the Prince, Alexander Roslavets as Vodnik and Agnieszka Rehlis as Ježibaba.
Performances run through October 4.
